The Board of Credit Union Advisors is a group of five members
appointed by the governor to advise the governor and commissioner
on problems relating to credit unions. Its purpose is also
to foster the interest and cooperation of credit unions in
the improvement of their services to the people of the state
of Utah. Here are some details of the board as outlined by
the state code (1B 7-9-43):
Members of the board shall be individuals who are familiar
with and associated in the field of credit unions.
At least three of the members shall be persons who have
had three or more years of experience as a credit union
officer and shall be selected from a list submitted to the
governor by the Utah credit union league.
The board shall meet quarterly. A chairman of the advisory
board shall be chosen each year from the membership of the
advisory board by a majority of the members present at the
board's first meeting each year.
As terms of appointed members expire their successors
shall be appointed for terms to expire the first Monday
in March five years thereafter.
All members shall serve until their successors are appointed
and qualified.
When a vacancy occurs, the vacancy shall be filled by
the governor in the same manner as original appointments
were made and the newly appointed member shall serve for
the unexpired term of his or her predecessor.
Meetings of the advisory board shall be held on the call
of the chairman. A majority of the members of the board
shall constitute a quorum.
